Important facts about the A/C smell!

Various strength and type of “rotten” smell could originate from the car’s cooling-evaporator core, where moss-mud type of deposit accumulated. This is the result of the icing and melting process but the excess condenswater or other drainline, elements are not functioning properly.
1) This type of hardened deposit can not be removed by using external materials (sprays, foam, fog etc.) applied through the vent holes or by the fan suction side. In the event of sizeable internal deposit the external spraying method will not abolish the “rotten” smell at A/C function.
2) The correct cleaning method is the direct Mobilsept cleaning solvent application (typically with a small servicehole) followed by the cleaning of the drain tubes. This process will ensure the A/C system “smelless” operation. When the deposit is due to other type of failure after cleaning the cause needs to be fixed!
3) The use of off-shelf A/C spray products can be used for A/C systems without any smell problems. These will provide general air-vent system disinfecting, when properly applied.
